“This is not an easy island to get to but when you arrive it takes your breath away. This is probably the most remote luxury island anywhere in the world and worth the effort to get to. From the moment you arrive the staff treats you as family and that means the wait staff to the fishing guides to the general management staff. If you are a fly fisherman or snorkeler/scuba diver, this is nirvana. The food is exceptional and wait till you experience the flats lunch! The accomadations are comfortable with the villas giving you more room than the standard casitas. This is a trip my wife and I will always remember until the next time we return. ” –gerb110

The island is a mecca for the fishing mad with the daily fishing excursions run like clockwork. Sun worshipers alike can relax and enjoy the delights of this beautiful island and its wildlife, walk cycle and take photos. Snorkelling is an absolute must with the very knowledgable and confident dive team. If you have to go somewhere amazing only once – make it Alphonse, you could not possibly regret it ” –caroljackson501
“Alphonse Island Resort has in the past been marketed mainly to fly fishing fanatics and all the amazing reviews bear testament to its reputation as the best salt water fly fishing in the world. I am hoping that some of the guys considering a trip will read my review and TAKE YOUR WIVES!!! I threatened my husband with the cost of a terribly extravagant & costly holiday for myself if he didn’t take me with him and I am so glad I did because this is an experience of a lifetime – the most relaxing holiday ever. The accommodation is comfortable and the sea just a few steps across the lawn. The island is unbelievably beautiful and it is easy to explore on a bicycle. The food was good and the evenings around the bar were great fun. This is a holiday destination for the whole family. P.S. The husband says this is the best fishing experience ever! ” –Hobnob_11
